You asked, we answered! Answering your most asked questions and some concerns!
We believe it is important for a small business (or any business for that matter) to be translucent! We want you to understand why we do the things we do so they can benefit YOU, our customers and consignors.
After I purchase an item can I have it wrapped in plastic if I am picking up at a later date?
Yes! But you have to ask. Typically we don’t wrap the items unless you ask, why? Because not everyone wants there items wrapped! Other than plastic wrap we do not have any moving supplies on hand at our stores, please bring anything you may think you’ll need to transport your furniture piece; rope, bungee cords, moving blankets etc.
Why can’t the staff load the furniture I purchased into my vehicle?
For insurance reasons we can not assist with lifting or loading furniture into your car. While our staff is wonderful and creative staging the furniture in our store we are not professional movers. Our staff love their jobs and their backs! We can not be responsible for any damage to your furniture piece or vehicle whilst loading! On that note, we can recommend a team of professional movers that can delivery the piece to your home!
I haven’t picked up my consignor cheque in six or more months, now it’s stale dated! How do I prevent this from happening again?
There are a bunch of ways you can prevent your consignor cheques from stale dating. First option; check your online consignor dashboard frequently! Your online consignor dashboard has a detailed list of everything you are selling on consignment at The Millionaire’s Daughter, item description, price, arrival date, date sold. If you aren’t able to come to our stores to pick up your consignor cheque, no problem! Provide us with self address and stamped envelopes and we will mail your cheques to you on the 15th of each month.
When can I bring in decor for consignment? Do I need an appointment?
We love when our consignors bring us fabulous items to sell which is why we have designated Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays as open consignment hours! Between 10:00 – 4:00 on Monday – Wednesday and 11:00 – 3:00 on Saturday we are happy to accept up to two medium-sized boxes of home decor. We can not accept consignments on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, that time is designated to price, tag, and stage your beautiful items. Our goal is to sell your items quickly for a great price!
Can I bring furniture during consignment hours?
Yes, but we prefer seeing pictures of any furniture item you wish to consign prior to you bringing it in. If we do not feel we have the market to sell your furniture we can save you the trip! You can email us pictures or bring in your camera or phone to show our staff.
My furniture isn’t in great condition, can I sell it on consignment?
As you choose items to consign, ask yourself, “Would I buy it in its current condition?”. If not, take a minute to dust, polish, clean or vacuum your item. We know you love your pets but we can not accept items with pet hair as we have to be conscious of allergies our customers may have! All items for consignment should be clean and in prime condition; i.e. dirt, dust, and smoke free, not in need of any repair, and in good working order.
The Millionaire’s Daughter staff seems so busy! Is there someone who can assist me while shopping through the store?
Our customers and consignors are always first priority! Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance even if we are standing on a ladder or moving furniture, we are here to help.
