Welcome to the The Millionaire’s Daughter’s Blog. My name is Jacky and I am so excited to be blogging for The Millionaire’s Daughter. We have been toying with the idea of starting a blog where we can share our passions of decorating, creating and of course consignment furniture here at The Millionaire’s Daughter. So today, we are diving in.
The Millionaire’s Daughter is a retail consignment business that opened in March 2009. Located on the trendy Ottawa Street in Hamilton with current locations in Oakville and Aurora, therefore serving the GTA and surrounding areas. The business is owned and operated by Maureen Barnes, whose philosophy for each location is to carry a wide variety of furniture pieces and home décor items at various price points for the shopping pleasure of any customer.
Consignment is the act of consigning, which is placing material in the hand of another, but retaining ownership until the goods are sold. With our ever growing commitment to recycling and reuse of our possessions, consignment makes good sense. Maureen has a favourite saying in her stores, “Everything here has its own little story and has been gathered through the years”. With consignment, the stories will continually change and grow into the future.
The Millionaire’s Daughter’s Blog will continue to add to this never ending story! I consider it a great privilege to be a part of this fabulous company and I am so excited to share our ideas, content, philosophy and most of all help people find joy and beauty in their homes and lives.
OK so a little about me, I’m Jacky, I have been working at The Millionaire’s Daughter Aurora store for 6 months now and I can not imagine anyone loves their job as much as I do. It’s one of those things where you never know what you want to be when you grow up until you’re doing it, and I’m doing it, everyday. I am passionate about design, and I am unbelievably lucky because I get to work with the amazing and creative staff at The Millionaire’s Daughter’s store each and every day. After graduating with a bachelor in Communications this computer stuff comes somewhat naturally though I have to admit I have never blogged in my life. So I am a first-timer, please forgive me as I am sure to fumble my way through these early posts as I learn the ropes.
Our goal with The Millionaire’s Daughter’s Blog is to inspire the lives of our customers and reader. Our blog will feature DIY tutorials, TMD product features, exclusive online contests, showroom tours and so much more. We have learned there are so many possibilities with reclaimed furniture, we love your ideas, and we can’t wait to share ours.
