TABLE TOPS RE-CAP

What a fabulous and inspiring weekend. Kari & I had the honour of designing and attending the Table Tops decorating and entertaining trends event hosted by the generous May Court Club of Oakville.

So let’s start with our theme. This year we have fallen in love with eclectic style, the word eclectic exemplifies everything we believe in at The Millionaire’s Daughter. It reshuffles the rule book, mixing and matching old and new, luxe and humble, showy and quiet. It invites you to fill a space with objects you love and unique finds that strike your fancy. And that’s exactly what we were aiming to create, The Millionaire’s Daughter – taken up a notch! That’s were elegant comes in.

First inspiration. Easy! Our inspiration came from inside our stores, Kari working in Hamilton and me, working in Aurora, would frantically call each other with ideas and amazing treasures arriving in our stores (on consignment of course). A spectacular crystal decanter, 2ft tall spiral brass candlesticks, lights, flowers and of course some incredible furniture pieces. What is the opposite of slim pickings??

Second, the set up, we knew we only had a short amount of time on Friday to put all these incredible pieces together, so Kari put together a “to scale” drawing of what our booth would look like. We boxed everything up, had the pieces delivered to Appleby College with the help of our moving team and got to work.

Third the fun part, Kari and I got to enjoy the inspiring atmosphere the May Court Club of Oakville created at this venue. From the Parisian inspired Forget Me Not Cafe to the Saturday evening Soiree we were blown away by the dedication and expertise these women exhibited.

We truly can not speak highly enough about this group of women we had a chance to get to know the members and their dedication and vision for this event truly was the driving force. We congratulate them on a wonderful and successful Table Tops event and can’t wait to be involved next time! Not to mention the net proceed of this weekend’s event went towards ROCK – Reach Out for Kids, an organization that promotes positive child development through programs and services that strengthen the ability of families and the community to raise and nurtures children.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
