The Project
Beginning July 1st, 2013 The Millionaire’s Daughter consignment store and the Stinson School Lofts are embarking on an exciting project to showcase four model suites furnished with consignment items. Not only will this show these fabulous condos and all the possibilities but also highlight the varied and exceptional furniture available at the store.
Both businesses have historic ties to Hamilton and share their pride and optimism for the future of this city.
The Millionaire’s Daughter
Maureen Barnes, owner of The Millionaire’s Daughter, opened her consignment store on Ottawa street in 2009. Named after her father’s business, The Millionaire drive-in, whose giant 40-foot high sign of the chef with a burger was a landmark in Hamilton throughout the 60’s and 70’s. Due to overwhelming success, The Millionaire’s Daughter has since expanded to Oakville and in August will open a 7,500 sq. ft store in Aurora.
The Stinson School Lofts
Harry Stinson’s project, the Stinson School Lofts is transforming a massive public school with origins dating back to 1894 into a 71 luxury condo complex. Comprised of a north building constructed in 1894 and a 1914 south wing — with a gym added in 1950s — the Stinson School is a huge red brick, red sandstone and limestone structure located on 1.5-acre site on Stinson St., just off the downtown core near the juncture of Main St. E. and Victoria Ave.
